Wayne Turner, age 78, of Munford, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Mr. Turner was a retired chemical mixer with DuPont Chemical, a veteran of the United States Navy, and was proud of his service to his country. He attended Restoration Church in Munford, and loved the outdoors and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Kathryn “Sissy” Turner; three daughters, Debra (Steve) Turner Scruggs, Donna (Jeff) Turner Crenshaw, and Rhonda Turner; two sons, Rodney Turner and Jamie Turner; nine grandchildren, Zakkery Turner, Tyler Catterton, Ethan Quinley, James Turner, Miles Turner, Lauren Scruggs Ward, Tanner Turner, Devon Turner, and Savanah Hancock; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois E. Gelwicks, and Carol (Gordon) Guessford, and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Scruggs, his parents, Claudius Preston and Charlotte Scott Turner; two sisters, Dixie L. Kelly, and Donna M. Fisher, and two brothers, Douglas Turner and Harry Turner. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Covington Funeral Home for a memorial visitation from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Friends of the Tipton County Animal Shelter in honor of Mr. Wayne.
