Timothy Wayne Parr was born on July 31, 1959, in Covington and made it to his Heavenly Home on June 21, 2024. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Egbert and Leona Parr, and Harold and Margaret Shahan; his father, Frank Wayne Parr and his brother-in-law, Chuck Branum. He leaves behind his mother, Shirley Parr; his brother, Paul Parr and his four sisters; Teri Branum, Janet Jerry (Howard), Laurie Coulston (Kenneth), and Jennifer Braun (Scott). He also leaves behind six nephews and five nieces.
Tim grew up and lived his life in Western Valley. He loved to talk and tell stories of the past - he never met a stranger. His memory of people, birthdays, and game scores amazed us all. If we couldn’t remember something or someone, we could always ask him. He loved listening to music of all kinds especially the “Oldies”, watching wrestling, old movies, sports, and taking long walks in the Valley with his dog. He had many dogs over the years, but leaves behind Lady, his beloved fiest. Tim loved sports of all kinds. He attended as many games as he could. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and was a fierce “Charger” fan. We promise he knew the score 20 years ago and who made the play! He had an infectious laugh! If he started laughing no doubt you would be rolling!
Tim was a born-again believer in Christ- a sinner saved by Grace. “For by Grace you have been saved through Faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2: 8-9. While he had times of suffering on this earth, it does not compare to the eternal joy he is now experiencing. “However, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard and what no human mind has conceived”-the things God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9. You made it Tim!! We can only imagine how good it is for you…fishing with Jesus! Until we meet again, you will be dearly missed!
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 28 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
