Susan Crittenden Huffman, a beloved Southern homemaker, devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many, passed away on May 30th, 2024 in Memphis. Born in the charming town of Mayfield, KY to Rev. and Mrs. Norman Crittenden on March 10th, 1950, Susan's life was one filled with love and warmth that she shared generously with those around her.
Susan leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her passing has left an indelible void in the hearts of her daughters; Shannon Huffman, Ashley Hutcheson (Hutch), Natalie Buckley (Chris); grandchildren, Faith and Isabella Conley, Nicholas and Brandon Hutcheson, Harper and Collins Buckley; great-grandchild, Brantley Conley as well as numerous friends and extended family members.
As a lifelong dedicated and active church member, throughout her life she journeyed through this world with grace and compassion. She found joy in caring for others and creating a warm home and magical memories for her loved ones. Her nurturing spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
Her devotion to Jesus and her family was unwavering. Susan's daughters remember her as their guiding light - always present and there to offer love, comfort and wisdom when they needed it most. Her grandchildren adored their grandma (Mah Mau) for the endless love she constantly showered upon them.
In addition to being a loving matriarch within her family circle, Susan also served as an anchor within her community through active involvement at church events where she selflessly gave of herself time and time again without expecting anything in return - only the pure satisfaction from helping others.
The loss of Susan is deeply felt by all who knew her. The memories created alongside such an extraordinary woman will forever be treasured—her warm laughter echoing through every room she graced with presence.
Though we mourn our loss today, we take solace knowing that heaven has gained another angel whose memory will live on eternally within our hearts.
