Shirley Huffman Kennedy, 93, of Atoka, passed away on Saturday, July 20. A homemaker, she was a graduate of Brighton High School, a member of the Brighton ARP Church and regularly attended the Munford Senior Citizens center. She is survived by one daughter, Mary (Bill) Williamson of Atoka; one son, John Lee Kennedy, Jr. of Atoka; seven sisters, Edith Hanks, Mary Pannell, Nora Dickey, Carolyn (Joe) Sides, Margarette Huffman, Joe Ann Alsbrook, all of Brighton and Charlotte (Louis) Williams of Oakland; three grandchildren, Will (Erin) Williamson, Katie Lynn Williamson and Michael Williamson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Kennedy, Sr., her parents, Neverette LaFayette and Annie Mae Marshall Huffman; one sister, Janice Boswell and two brothers, Thomas Gwinn "Tucker" Huffman and Neverette LaFayette Huffman, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Indian Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
