Roy G. Colburn, Sr., 79, of Brighton, passed away on Wednesday, March 20. Mr. Colburn was a retired Captain after 30 years with the Memphis Police Dept, a U. S. Air Force veteran and a member of the West Side Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pilkington Colburn; one daughter, Maria Colburn; two sons, Roy G. Colburn, Jr. and Joseph (Joyce) Crumpler; two step-daughters, Vickey Ridings and Leslie Helsel; two step-sons, Larry Wayne (Heidi) Colburn, Jr. and Jeffory Dewayne (Denise) Colburn; three grandchildren, Britney Crumpler, Nicholas Crumpler and Christopher Crumpler; seven step-grandchildren, Justin Triplett, Mason Triplett, Derek Triplett, Brandon Pilkington, Adam Colburn, Donavon Ridings, Vincent Ridings, one brother, James E. Colburn; one step-brother, Johnny Maddox; one sister, Dorothy Moreno and one step-sister, June Maddox. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Lois Colburn; one sister, Martha Ann Kopp; one brother, Larry Wayne Colburn, Sr. and one step-grandson, Benjamin Scott Colburn. Funeral services will be held for Mr. Colburn at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 23 at the Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Covington Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22 from 5 p.m until 8 p.m.
