Roby Glover, 89, of Covington, passed away on Thursday, July 18 at the VA Hospital in Memphis surrounded by his family. He was a retried maintenance supervisor with Plant Maintenance and had also worked at DynaSteel. In addition to his maintenance work, he also taught at the Covington Vo-Tech school and was the co-owner of Fish, Fur and Feathers in Covington.
Roby was a member of the Covington Church of Christ and was veteran of the U. S. Army, having been stationed in Korea, Japan and Germany. An avid hunter, he loved hunting deer and doves. He was always sharing his hunting bounty with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley Glover; one daughter, Norma (Keith) Spilde of Ocala, FL; one sister, Joyce (Floyd) Evans of Juniper, FL; three brothers, Doug (Peggy) Glover of Bruceton, TN, Jerry Glover and John (Merle) Glover, both of Cleveland, TN one granddaughter, Samantha (Jerome) Teer of Italy; three great grandchildren, Maryssa Teer, Apollo Teer and Declan Teer and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Ocie Lee Glover; one son, Roby Lee Andrew Glover, Jr; one sister, Mary Miller and five brothers, Ronnie Glover, J. T. Glover, Lawrence Glover, Charles Glover and Ralph Glover.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 21 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in R. H. Munford Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
