JoEllen Sigmon, age 52, passed away on Saturday, September 4, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton. Mrs. JoEllen was one of the most caring and loving people you'd ever meet. She never met a stranger, and was always willing to help anyone in their time of need. She was the absolute best mother, wife, aunt and grandmother that her family could have asked for. Mrs. JoEllen was a strong woman, having fought a very hard battle with Lupus for many years. She was taken way too soon, but now she may rest in peace knowing the pain is gone. JoEllen Sigmon leaves behind her husband of almost 26 years, James Sigmon; six children, Amber Jackson, of Fremont, CA, Laura McLawhorn, of Scottsboro, AL, Dustin Hunt, of Hazel Green, AL, Tanya Sigmon, Jamie Sigmon and Kylie Sigmon, all of Brighton, TN; her mother, Murree Harmon, of Hazel Green, AL, and two grandchildren, Aiden Hunt of Hazel Green, AL, and Dakota Sigmon, of Brighton, TN. She was preceded in death by her father, Verlin Osbourne Harmon. Funeral services for JoEllen Sigmon will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, September 13, at the Covington Funeral Home. Visitation for friends and family will begin two hours prior to the service. Interment in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery will immediately follow the funeral service.
