Jimmy Wayne Belk, age 77, passed peacefully in his sleep in the comfort of his home in Whiteville, TN on Monday, July 24th. Mr. Jimmy was a carpenter, welder, fabricator, and all-around jack -of-all-trades. On many occasions, he told his family that the only thing he couldn’t weld was a broken heart. He was a United States Army Veteran, and a Mason. Jimmy Wayne had many roles in his life – son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and “Poppe” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was anything and everything he needed to be for his family, going out of his way to make sure those he knew and loved were taken care of. He was tough as nails, and had a heart of gold. He enjoyed barbecuing, going coon hunting, and running his dogs, but most of all, Mr. Jimmy loved to talk! He is survived by five children, Renee (Noah) McNabb, Kim (Lynn) White, Joe Willie (Christy) Belk, Bubba Wayne Belk, and William Sigler; nine grandchildren, Jacob, Jarron, Mike, Charly, Jimi Nae, Jennifer, Josey, Jordan, and Kason; four great-grandchildren, Jadyn, Jaylee, Jaxon, and Gray, and four siblings, Nellie Boothe, Joyce Boothe, Letha Pinner, and Shorty Belk. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Belk; his parents, James Cecil and Annie Mae Fite Belk, and five siblings, James Richard Belk, Elizabeth Ann Morgan, Harry Lynn Belk, Dennis Ray Belk, and David Glenn Belk. Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Wayne Belk will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 2p.m. at Covington Funeral Home, with interment with military honors to follow at Morrison Cemetery in Brighton. Visitation for family and friends will be held the evening prior at the funeral home, from 5pm until 7pm.
