James Fletcher, 69, of Burlison, passed away on Saturday, October 21. Mr. Fletcher was a U. S. Army Veteran, a retired sales counselor with Dean Foods, a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Institute and a Baptist. He leaves his wife, Judy Fletcher; two-step sons, Jason (Jennifer) Thornton and Jeff (Amy) Thornton, both of Hot Springs, AR; one sister, Janet (Dennis) Brookins of Drummonds; one sister-in-law, Frankie Fletcher of Munford; four step-grandchildren, Austin Thornton, Aspen Thornton, Journee Thornton and Parker Phillips and three nieces, Dana Kottke Finn, Melissa Fletcher and Marye Helen Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Edward and Juanita Olean Scott Fletcher; two brothers, Dudley Gamble and Phillip Fletcher; one sister, Olean Kincaid; one nephew, Kevin Cranford and one cousin, Francis Scott. The family wishes to express their special thanks to the VA Memphis hospital staff and physicians for the care that James received during his stay there. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to either St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or the Smyrna Baptist Church Playground Fund. Mr. Fletcher will be laid to rest in Hot Springs, AR at a later time with no local services planned.
