Derek Wilson

Derek Wilson, 56, of Burlison, passed away on Wednesday, November 13.  Mr. Wilson was a maintenance worker.

Derek was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.  He also loved to cook and was known for making anything out of nothing and when he cooked, he always enjoyed cooking for a large group. 

He is survived by one son, Drake (Erin) Wilson of Memphis; one daughter, Summer (Tucker) Derryberry of Covington; his mother, Glenda Wilson of Burlison; one sister, Deirdre "DeeDee" (William) Trantham of Burlison and two grandsons, Dalton Derryberry and Brooks Wilson.  He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 17 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in R. H. Munford Cemetery.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
