David Clarence Winberry, 66, of Covington, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Methodist Hospital North in Memphis after a brief illness. He was a graduate of Covington Elementary School and attended Byars Hall High School. He worked for the Covington Leader, Delfield Refrigeration Company and with River City Sprinkler in Cordova. David was also good at roofing houses, painting and carpentry work. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, listening to music, gardening, canning vegetables for himself and sharing with family and friends. He is survived by two sisters, Carolyn (Ralph) Stacks of Horn Lake, MS and Linda (Steve) Harvell of Covington; two brothers, Dennis (Barbara) Winberry and Daniel (Sharon) Winberry, both of Brighton; one step-sister, Betty Bogue of Brighton; an aunt, cousins, one uncle, friends, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by mother, Vera Dempy Lowery Winberry Knight and his father, Clarence Edgar Winberry. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 17 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
