Bonnie Ann Henson, born February 27, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama, to Sam and Alma Wright Giddens, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Although Ms. Bonnie was an only child, she grew up surrounded by much love and laughter, being raised alongside her first cousins. Ms. Bonnie was a member of the Covington First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Kelly Henson, and her daughter and favorite son-in-law, Sharon and Jesse Carpenter, of Mason. Ms. Bonnie also leaves behind beloved in-laws, Tene Henson of Selmer, Herbert and Sequoia Henson of Memphis, Tony and Sue Henson of Hornbeak, Larry and Wilma Smith of Hornbeak, and Brenda Mason of Covington; six grandchildren, Jacob and Becky Carpenter of Clinton, MS, Jordan and Emily Carpenter of Memphis, and Rex and Kinsey Gorman, of Monroe, WA; six great-grandchildren, Eliza Carpenter, Benson Carpenter, Naomi Gorman, Ruthie Carpenter, Judah Carpenter, and the newest addition, Phoebe Gorman, and three first-cousins, Joe Cates, Charlotte Ann Horton Etris, and Sue Cates. She also loved numerous nieces, nephews, and extended cousins. Ms. Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, and three first-cousins, Charles Cates, Marion H. “Bud” Cates, and Richard Cates. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Sanctuary Fund. Funeral Services for Ms. Bonnie Ann Henson will be held on Saturday, December 5, at the Covington Funeral Home chapel. Visitation for friends and family will be from 12pm until 2pm, with the service beginning at 2pm in the chapel. Interment services will take place at the West Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery on Monday, December 28.
