Beverly "Kay" Ethridge passed peacefully in her home after an extended illness on Tuesday morning, January 29th. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Ethridge after 49 years of marriage and her parents Verl and Maureen Phillips of Decatur TX; three sisters, Glenda, Billie, and Jean and a brother Clinton. She is survived by a sister Pam Stanfied of Chico, TX and a brother, Larry Phillips of Henrietta, TX. She has two sons, Scott Ethridge and his wife Pam of Munford and Randy Ethridge and his wife Tina of Brighton. She had 5 grandchildren, Justin Ethridge of Brighton, Trever Ethridge of Portland, OR, Hunter (Alyssa) Ethridge of Munford, Evan Ethridge of Indianapolis, IN, and Erin Ethridge of Munford. She had one great grandson, James Ethridge of Munford. Kay Ethridge retired in 2004 from civil service after working as an administrative secretary with 29 years serving the Navy Morale Welfare and Recreation department at NAS Millington. Kay was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother and was always looking for the best in people. She was honest, sincere, and caring. She was the peacekeeper of the family and always encouraged us to excel in everything. She was intelligent, kind and loving. She will be missed and will always be in our hearts. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 2 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. The family requests that any memorials be made to LeBonheur Childrens Hospital.
