Clyde "Buddy" Palmer August 2, 1938 - June 1, 2017 Clyde "Buddy" Palmer, 78, of Brighton, passed away on Thursday, June 1. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 3 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow at R. H. Munford Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Palmer was retired from the U. S. Army after 24 years, serving in Korea and the Vietnam War. In addition to his military career, he was a retired self-employed truck driver and a member of the Brighton Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Moon Palmer; one daughter, Charlotte A. Samberson of Pueblo, CO; one son, Adam Wade Palmer of Buford, GA; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two sons, Clyde A. Palmer and Tony Palmer; his parents, Raymond and Lear Rone Palmer; three brothers, James Palmer, Oneal Palmer and Raymond Palmer and four sisters, Lillie M. Mashburn, Joyce Thorpe, Melba Laverne Palmer and Lucille Devore.
