Robert (Bob) Christopherson, born on March 31, 1921 in Chicago, IL, was called home to be with his heavenly Father on April 5, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda and is survived by his son, David and daughter-in-law Carina from Chula Vista CA, daughter, Karen and son-in-law David Hudspeth from Millington TN, grandson, Daryll Christopherson From Montrose CA, and granddaughter, Kathryn Perry from Davenport, FL. At 17 years old, Mr. Christopherson began working for Commonwealth Edison Company in Chicago, IL, remaining with the company for 43 years. He took a leave of absence from the company to serve in the US Army Air Force during WWII from November 6, 1942 to February 24, 1946 and returned to the company after his separation from the military. Key projects he was instrumental on while working for Commonwealth Edison were the John Hancock Center, Sears Tower, and First National Bank, all three being key landmarks of the downtown Chicago skyline. His life’s philosophy was “Life is a gift to you. The way you live your life is your gift to those who come after. Make it a fantastic one.” A private interment service will take place at a later time in Chicago, IL.
